KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 (Bernama) -- Police have detained a close relative of Syaleza Jaffar, 31, the TV9 administrative executive who was found dead at her unit of the Saujana Apartments in Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya, late yesterday evening.
Petaling Jaya Police chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed said the man was picked up late last night in his village in Segamat, Johor.
Police have recorded a statement from the relative, he said when contacted by Bernama.
Arjunaidi said preliminary investigation by the Selangor Police Pathology and Forensic Unit revealed strangulation marks and bruises on Syaleza''s body.
"However, investigation is going on to determine the actual cause of death," he said.
Syaleza''s body was reportedly found in her bedroom at 7 pm after the door was broken open when she did not respond to calls to break the Ramadan fast.
