KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 (Bernama) -- The police seized two pistols and a
hand-grenade from two men, including a personal bodyguard, in separate incidents
today and last Saturday.
The guns comprised a Taurus 9mm loaded with six rounds of ammunition and an
Italian-made Tanfoglio 9mm loaded with 10 bullets.
Cheras police chief ACP Mohan Singh said the Taurus pistol and hand-grenade
were seized from a 37-year-old man who was found semi-conscious at a
road-shoulder in Taman Permata, Cheras about 6 this morning.
Also seized were a long knife, a flick-knife and a motorcycle believed to have
been used in a robbery, which were found beside the suspect.
"We spotted the hand-grenade about 20 metres from where the suspect was found,
about one hour later," Mohan told a media conference here.
He said, initial investigations revealed the suspect could have been knocked
down by a vehicle or fallen on the road as he had tested positive for drugs and
alcohol.
