POLICE SHOOT TWO MEMBERS OF "BUYUNG" GANG

KOTA BAHARU, April 18 (Bernama) -- Two criminals, high on the wanted list,

were shot dead by the police in a raid at a budget hotel along Jalan Sri

Cemerlang here yesterday.

Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman identified them as

Elezulhelmie Ilias, also known as ''Emi Lias'', from Bekelam, Bachok, and Ahmad

Izzuddin Che Deraman, or ''Din Billion'', from Jalan Marican here, who were

members of the "Buyung" gang.

Both of them died at the scene, he added.

He said police, acting on a tip-off, went to a room on the first floor of

the hotel about 8pm.

"After police opened the door and introduced themselves, they saw two men

jumped through a window at the back of the hotel.

"Police tried to apprehend them, but one of them opened fire, forcing the

police to return fire in defence," he added.

cards, five driving licence, and identity card and a road tax disc, he said.

Following preliminary investigations, police believed the two suspects were
