POLL

Newcastle striker Demba Ba is rumoured to be unhappy with life at the club at the moment after being benched for the club's last league outing against Everton.

He went on to come on against David Moyes' side at half time and grab both goals, but intimated in post-match interviews that there were issues behind the scenes that needed sorting out, with his agent stirring things up even further by claiming that the player would be willing to listen to offers.

This all comes hot on the heels of manager Alan Pardew confessing that the £7 million release clause in his contract, which was widely believed to have expired this summer, is still very much active and the club are worried that the player could leave when the January transfer window opens.

With that in mind, a host of clubs around the top flight could do with the services of the 27-year-old Senegal international, should he decide that the grass is greener away from Tyneside.

Chelsea have started the new campaign in decent form, but aside from Fernando Torres, the club have just Daniel Sturridge also capable of playing up front and they may have an eye on recruiting more depth in this position sooner rather than later.

A catastrophic transfer deadline day has also left Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers with a shortage of strikers in his squad, after they let go of Andy Carroll to West Ham on loan before failing to secure a deal for Clint Dempsey and they could be tempted to join the race for his signature.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger dipped into his deep pockets this summer and the club brought in the likes of Lukas Podolski, Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud to compensate for the loss of star striker Robin van Persie.

However, the Frenchman's struggles up front so far this term have been well documented and if they are still challenging for the title by the next transfer window, they might be tempted to move for Ba.

Tottenham are another club which look a body or two light in terms of options up top and despite clinching the signing of Dempsey, manager Andre Villas-Boas may require more firepower to help the club achieve a top-four place in the league this season.

Meanwhile, should Ba decide to stay at Newcastle, he will most likely continue to play a pivotal role alongside the superb duo of Papiss Cisse and Hatem Ben Arfa.

HAVE YOUR SAY

Which club would Demba Ba be best suited to in the Premier League? Could he suit the fast-flowing technical style at Arsenal? Or would he be the solution to Liverpool's striking woes? Should he disregard the interest entirely, however, and stay put at Newcastle?
