KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- Pos Malaysia is issuing a
collection of special issue stamps and first day covers themed on the new
Malaysian coins starting July 16.
Pos Malaysia Berhad chief executive officer, Datuk Khalid Abdol Rahman said
in collaboration with Bank Negara, the stamps were designed hexagonal, featuring
five and ten cents coins in silver while the 20 and 50 cents coin in gold.
The stamps will be sold for 60 cents each respectively.
"There will also be mini sheets featuring RM1, RM5, RM10, RM20, RM50 and
RM100 notes which will be sold at RM5 each," he told reporters here today.
Meanwhile, Pos Malaysia''s Stamp and Philately Unit head Yasmin Ramli said
the stamps were printed on coated silver and gold paper with unique details that
were rarely produced to highlight the color and design of new coins.
She said stamps collectors were encouraged to register as Standing Order
Deposit Account (Soda) members to receive stamps and other philately products
without having to queue at the counter.
