PPG Introduces Improved DURANAR ADS Coating Product
PPG Industries Inc.’s (PPG) coil and building products coatings group has recently launched an improved DURANAR ADS (air-dried system) fluoropolymer coating.
The newly formulated coating is based on KYNAR ADS2 fluorinated copolymer resin by Arkema and PPG’s patented technology and can be used for fluoropolymer finishes on architectural metals that have been damaged during production or installation. Moreover, the coating is available in a broad color palette consisting of solid, metallic and pearlescent colors and in PPG’s infrared-reflective (IR-reflective) pigment technology.
This technology claims to be a true air dry system retaining the salient features of PPG’s original finish for durability and color fastness. Moreover, Arkema has preserved the superior weatherability and adaptability to extreme climate while manufacturing the second-generation KYNAR ADS2 resin.
This technology, included in PPG’s coil and building products coatings group, is expected to meet the growing need of metal product manufactures in keeping with the company’s goals.
DURANAR ADS coating technology, which is developed by PPG in collaboration with Arkema, enables metal manufacturers to improve the quality of their products and deliver better customer service. Hence, it marks a milestone in the industry.
Additionally, due to its single-component formulation DURANAR ADS coating is pliable can be applied using a simple finger-nail brush or sprayed for minute corrections at the end of production. It can also be used on window and door frames, roofs and metal wall panels which have been impaired during installation or manufacture.
PPG currently carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
