KOTA KINABALU, July 14 (Bernama) -- Queens Park Rangers'' (QPR) Asian
tour which will kick-off with a match against a Sabah selection here this July
17 will be good preparation for their opening game of the English Premier
League (EPL) season against Swansea on Aug 18, said QPR''s CEO Philip Beard.
"We’re taking this tour very seriously. But
we hope to get a bit of fun as well.
"We’re excited. We’ve got a very strong squad not just for this trip, but
also for the upcoming EPL," he told reporters soon after
arriving here today.
The squad flew in on board an AirAsia aircraft and arrived at the Kota
Kinabalu International Airport here.
Meanwhile, Sabah Football Association’s (SAFA) deputy president Datuk
Lawrence Gimbang said tickets for the July 17 match are priced at RM33, RM53 and
RM83.
After Sabah, QPR will meet Kelantan at the Shah Alam Stadium on July 20
before heading off to Indonesia to play Persebaya Surabaya at the Gelora Bung
Tomo Stadium on July 23.
