IPOH: The decision by Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim to quit DAP was made "with dignity", Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir said.
He said Tunku Abdul Aziz was aware of the actual situation within the party.
"Tunku Abdul Aziz is an experienced person and understood the meaning of true struggle," he told reporters yesterday.
Zambry said Tunku Abdul Aziz had not only made an impact on the country but was also known as a man of principle.
He also condemned Perak opposition leader Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, whom he claimed had barged into a Barisan Nasional ceramah on Sunday.
Zambry said Nizar's actions were not the actions of a "normal individual".
"A normal, sensible person would not do what he did. He knew that it was a ceramah by BN and he walked in and sat at the spot reserved for one of the speakers," he said.
Nizar had attended a BN ceramah organised by Umno's Kampar division in Tualang Sekah, Kampar.
Many were shocked when the former menteri besar calmly walked onto the stage and took a seat at the ceramah, that was themed Nizar: The Serial Liar.
