KANGAR, July 30 (Bernama) -- The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin
Putra Jamalullail today launched a Titian Kasih programme at Sekolah Rendah
Kebangsaan Kem Tentera Sri Kinabatangan, Sandakan in conjunction with a four-day
working visit to the "Ops Pasir'' areas here beginning today.
According to a press statement issued here, the programme was organised by
Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra (YTSP) in collaboration with the Sandakan District
Education Office.
When launching the community programme, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin who is also
the Territorial Army Regiment 504 commander, said it was important for members
of society to have a world-class mentality and possess a good image and
personality.
The Raja Muda is accompanied by the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Hajah
Lailatul Shahreen Akashah in leading the Perlis government''s working visit here.
The royal couple had earlier launched a campaign to collect 2,000 signatures
from students in Sandakan in support of Malaysia''s contingent at the London
Olympics and in conjunction with Malaysia''s 55th independence anniversary,
organised by C''Mart, Arau.
In a separate programme, the Raja Puan Muda launched the ''Campaign Against
Violence Against Women'' organised by the Perlis Women''s Development Department
with the cooperation of the 22nd battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment.
Before leaving for Sandakan, she received a contribution of 500 tins of
biscuit from Hwa Tai Industries Berhad to be distributed to members of the
security forces on duty along the Sabah border.
