Get a restaurant recommendation from Mario Batali

Chefs Feed offers the restaurant recommendations of some of the top US chefs like Thomas Keller, Grant Achatz and Mario Batali

A new app developed for the iPhone shares the inside secrets of where celebrity chefs like Grant Achatz, Thomas Keller and Mario Batali like to eat during their off-time after hours.

Launched September 29 in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Los Angeles, the new eats guide, Chefs Feed, features a hundred restaurant recommendations from some of the top chefs in the US.
It promises to share the inside scoop of where Batali gets his carnitas tacos fix, for instance, and where Keller goes for the freshest sushi possible.

Washington DC, Seattle, Boston and Philadelphia are scheduled to be added by the end of the year.

Unlike the volumes of anonymous restaurant recommendations made on user-generated sites like Zagat and Yelp, the Chefs Feed has the credibility of celebrity gourmet chefs known for their exacting standards, say the developers.

Meanwhile, co-founder Jared Rivera also produced a series of documentaries featuring some of the recommended dishes. The short films will be aired on Virgin America flights beginning October 1.

The app is free on itunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/chefs-feed/id466211510?ls=1&mt=8.

In August, another developer released an app that can tailor restaurant recommendations to individual tastes. Once the user rates 10 different restaurants on the app, Ness analyzes the user's tastes and preferences and makes personalized recommendations from there.
