Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) said on Wednesday it was parting ways with former international Roger Milla and longtime honorary president of the body.
In a communiqué released after its general assembly held at the Mont Febe Hotel in Yaoundé on May 16, the Fecafoot said the 1990 Fifa World Cup sensation was deposed following his incessant verbal attacks against the body and a recent call to oust the Fecafoot boss Iya Mohamed.
“Pursuant to Article 45 of the statute of the Fecafoot, Mr Albert Roger Miller has been removed from his duties as honorary president of Fecafoot for abusive language against the body, its president and its officers and to have publicly called for popular protests and insurrection against the federation,” the statement read.
The 59-year-old Cameroon football legend recently circulated a petition to press for the voluntary departure of members of the Fecafoot, whom he said were responsible for the decline of the central African nation’s football.
