    RTM ATTRACTS VIEWERS VIA "SYAHADAH" DOCUMENTARY DURING RAMADAN

    KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) - The documentary "Syahadah" produced by

    Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) for the seventh season this year, traces the

    development of Islam in Malaysia.

    It includes the early arrival of Islam to the Malay states, manuscripts and

    old books and the role of scholars and leaders in spreading Islam in the

    country.

    The documentary also conducted filming on remnants of the Andalusian

    government and traces the impact of Islam on communities in Morocco and Spain,

    RTM said in a statement today.

    ''Syahadah'' which began in 2005 has 33 episodes of 30 minute each is aired at

    6.30pm during Ramadan with repeat at 5.30am on TV1.

    The English version is aired on TV2 at 4pm with repeat at 4:30am.

    The documentary revealed secrets of Islamic civilisation via customs and

    lifestyle of Muslim communities as inspiration and innovation over the ages.
