SEPANG, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), in
collaboration with Bank Rakyat, will broadcast the programme ''Salam Baitullah''
on TV1 in conjunction with the current haj season.
Deputy Director-General of Broadcasting (Strategic) Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed
Yunus said the 20-episode programme would begin on Oct 23 and end on Nov 11.
"It''s an overreach programme that we can use for Malaysians to look at the
situation in Mecca and Medina so that we can appreciate the haj rirtuals," he
told reporters at the KL International Airport after seeing off the Salam
Baitullah crew to Mecca today.
Ahmad Jailani said that for the programme this time, RTM would use the web
facilities such as Skype and Facebook to broadcast the programme.
Bank Rakyat''s Public Affairs head Saliman Zainal, said Bank Rakyat had twice
sponsored the programme ''Salam Baitullah'' with the hope that such programmes
would give more impact to the people of Malaysia especially in understanding the
haj rituals.
