KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 31): Samsung Malaysia Electronics launched its latest device, the Galaxy Note 2, catered for creative minds on the go.

"The Galaxy Note launched last year carved a new category of smart mobile devices, making it a milestone for Samsung," said Kwon Jae Hoon, managing director of Samsung Malaysia in a statement. "This year, we are proud to introduce the Galaxy Note 2, a device infused with capabilities to help people unleash their creativity at work or at leisure."

The Galaxy Note is aimed at those with a "creative inner spark", the phoe facilitates information discovery, while capturing and expressing ides efficiently, he said.

"Built with an unbeatable viewing experience as well as unique and differentiated features, people can discover information and capture their ideas faster, express freely and manage tasks more efficiently. This device is desgined to help people harness their indivudual creativity, allowing them to live an inspired life," he added.

The smartphone features a 5.5 inch high definition Super AMOLED Plus screen, 16:9 screen ratio and is built to be thinner and lighter.

Its stylus, the S-Pen, allows users to take advantage of software such as Air View, which allows one to hover with the S-Pen over an email, S-Note, S-Planner, image galleries or videos to preview content without having to open a file.

Its Quick Command feature also allows one to use the S-Pen to take shortcuts.

Three new multitasking functions includes Pop Up Note, Multiwindow and Pop Up Video.

The Galaxy Note 2 is equipped with a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, high speed packet access (HSPA) Plus to deliver easy multitasking, fast screen transitions and browsing performance as well as minimises lag time when apps are starting.

It runs on the Android 4.1 JellyBean platform, 16GB memory as well as an 8 megapixel rear-facing and 1.0 megapixel front-facing cameras equipped with HD video recording.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be available in Marble White and Titanium Grey at RM2,299 through Celcom, DiGi, Maxis and through all Samsung Elite Partners.
