TEMERLOH, July 7 (Bernama) -- Despite going through wet and slippery hilly
roads, Sarawak cyclist, Addy Ammin Shahriman Othman managed to complete the race
with the fastest time, thus winning the gold medal in the 15th Malaysia Games''s
(SUKMA) Mountain Bike (MTB) Cross Country for Men''s category.
Addy Ammin, 19, clocked one hour 22 minutes and 11 seconds in the five
rounds of 4.05km race defeating cyclists from Selangor, Norshahriel Haizat Ahmad
Nazali and Terengganu, Mohd Zulhafiz Saipuddin.
Norshahriel won the second place with a time of 1:24:10s while Mohd Zulhafiz
took the third place with 1:25:15s. "The damp and slippery-route was really
challenging, the other cyclists were also really close at the back...so I had to
give my best in the five rounds.
"This is the second time that I joined Sukma, and the first time that I was
crowned as champion," he told reporters after completing the final round at the
Sri Tualang, here, today.
Addy Ammin, who is from Bintulu, also hoped that his name would be listed in
the national squad and that he would be competing in the Myanmar SEA Games next
