    SARAWAK HEAD OF STATE TO HOLD RAYA OPEN HOUSE AT ASTANA

    KUCHING, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abang

    Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng will hold a two-day Aidilfitri open house at

    his official residence, Astana, in Petra Jaya here.

    According to a statement from the state information department, he and wife,

    Toh Puan Norkiah, would welcome guests and local dignitaries from 10am-noon and

    from 3pm-5pm on the first day.

    Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud will hold an open house at the

    Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on the first and second day of

    Aidilfitri.

    On the second day, Abang Muhammad Salahuddin and wife will attend the chief

    minister''s open house at the BCCK. They will return to the Astana to hold the

    open house.

    Other Muslim state cabinet ministers, including Housing and Urban

    Development Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and Minister in the Chief

    Minister''s Office Datin Fatimah Abdullah will hold open house at their

    respective residences on the first day.

    On the third day, Abang Muhammad Salahuddin will visit local dignitaries and

    friends in Kuching in Sarikei (Sept 4), Miri (Sept 7) and Bintulu (Sept 10).

    On Sept 5, he will hold his Hari Raya open house at the Sri Rajang

    government rest house in Sibu.
