7 Feb – Japanese actress Sawajiri Erika is on a roll after her comeback from the controversy surrounding her "Closed Note" movie, with a debut as a fashion producer planned after her handbag design was featured in her latest, "L et M: Watashi ga Anata wo Aisuru Riyuu, Sono Hoka no Monogatari", according to Tokyograph.
The 25-year-old's fashion designs will be promoted through her established collaboration with popular Japanese fashion brands Samantha Thavasa and Mercury Duo. Both companies have previously worked with Sawajiri through her comeback mobile phone drama.
"L et M: Watashi ga Anata wo Aisuru Riyuu, Sono Hoka no Monogatari" follows the relationships of two very different women, L and M, both played by Sawajiri.
Although fashion magazines sweet and GLAMOROUS provided most of the outfits for the drama, Sawajiri was seen using a special Samantha Thavasa bag in the 2nd episode. The bag was designed by her from scratch, from the materials right down to the stitching.
As of now, the "L" version of the bag is already on sale online, along with about 35 other accessories and dresses that appeared in the drama in the website Stylife.
An "M" version of the bag is scheduled to go on sale on 12 March this year.
For those who are curious, Samantha Thavasa is a brand that has been endorsed by many well-known celebrities, such as American singers Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Momsen.
