KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 (Bernama) -- A security guard was ordered to serve two
weeks in prison by the Magistrate''s Court here today after he pleaded guilty to
stealing various items including six bars of chocolates at a shopping mall, four
days ago.
Magistrate Parvin Hameedah Natchair ordered Binnie Armi, 25, (rpt:
Binnie Armi) to serve the sentence from the date of his arrest (May 25).
The father of two had stolen the chocolates, a pair of sunglasses, a jacket
and a pair of shoes, altogether worth RM143.40, at a shopping mall in Jalan
Silang here at 11.30 am on May 25.
He was liable to be jailed up to 10 years and fined.
Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Tan Siew Ping appeared for the prosecution
while the accused was unrepresented.

At another Magistrate''s Court, an umemployed man was jailed a day and fined
RM100 for stealing a bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap worth RM20 at a grocery
shop located along Jalan Changkat Tong Shin, Bukit Bintang here on May 25.
Magistrate Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin also ordered the accused, Nur Hasan
Md Isa, 24, to serve an additional 10 days jail if he defaulted on the fine.
DPP S. Malini Anne prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
