The 2013 Malaysia Cup draw will take place on July 27 at the TM Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur and it will determine the groups after Selangor, Johor Darul Takzim, LionsXII and Kelentan have been identified as top seeds.
The second pool of seeded teams feature last season's losing finalists ATM, Pahang, Perak and PKNS while the third pool is made up of Terengganu, T-Team, Sarawak and Sime Darby.
The MSL's relegated duo of Felda United and Negeri Sembilan will be joining Johor FA and Kedah in the lowest-seeded pool after they saw off POS Malaysia and Sabah respectively in the play-offs.
Last year, the 2012 Malaysia Cup final between Kelantan and ATM was forced in to extra-time after Norshahrul Idlan Talaha's brace was matched by goals from Rezal Zambery and Marlon Alex James.
The Red Warriors went on to win it with a goal from Indraputra Mahayuddin in extra-time at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Prior to the Malaysia Cup draw, the Football Association of Malaysia will be handing out the award for the top scorer in the two domestic leagues.
Marlon Alex James ended the season as the MSL's Golden Boot winner with 16 goals while Karlo Primorac netted 24 goals for Sime Darby in the Malaysian Premier League. ;
The 2013 Malaysia Cup group stages will be played from August 20 until September 21 with the quarter-finals scheduled for September 28 and October 4.
The semi-final will be held on October 18 and 15 while the final will take place on November 3.
