SENATE PASSES THREE BILLS

KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- The Senate on Monday passed the

Supplementary Supply Bill (2011) 2012, the Construction Industry Payment and

Adjudication Bill 2011 and the Mediation Bill 2012.

The Supplementary Supply Bill (2011) 2012 provides an additional supply of

RM10,290,243,800 to several ministries and departments for the provision of

services.

The Construction Induistry Payment and Adjudication Bill 2011 is aimed at

facilitating payment, solving disputes through adjudication and providing a

remedy to expedite payment in the construction insdustry.

Meanwhile, the Mediation Bill 2012 is aimed at enhancing mediation as an

alternative to resolve disputes in a fair, speedy and cost effective manner.

The Senate sitting continues tomorrow.
