    SENIOR CITIZEN CHARGED WITH OUTRAGING MODESTY OF GRANDAUGHTER

    KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 (Bernama) -- A senior citizen pleaded not guilty at the

    Magistrate''s Court here today to four charges of outraging the modesty of his

    nine-year-old grandaughter.

    The 74-year-old man was charged with outraging the modesty of the girl at

    four different places including two hotels and in a car, here, from the hours of

    1pm to 6pm between April 2010 and October 2011.

    He was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code which provides for a

    maximum imprisonment of 10 years, fine or caning, or any of the two, upon

    conviction

    When the charge was read out by a court interpreter, the victim''s mother,

    who is the complainant in the case, was seen crying and being consoled by family

    members.

    Magistrate Zulkpli Abdullah set bail at RM15,000 in one surety and

    fixed Feb 28 for mention.

    Deputy public prosecutor S.Malini Anne appeared for the prosecution while

    the accused was represented by counsel Muhammad Fauzi.
