Sessegnon carries Sunderland to Cup victory

An extra-time goal from the in-form Stephane Sessegnon saw Premier League side Sunderland prevail 2-1 over Championship outfit Middlesbrough in their FA Cup fourth round replay.

The Benin international midfielder struck seven minutes from time to give the Black Cats - who have thrived ever since the inspirational Northern Irishman Martin O'Neill took over when Steve Bruce was sacked - a plum fifth round home tie against Arsenal.

Jack Colback had given Sunderland the lead against their fellow north east opponents only for Lukas Jutkiweicz to level in the second-half.

However, Sessegnon - who joined last season after falling out of favour at French side Paris Saint Germain - proved the match winner to give the team their sixth win in seven games.
