    SHARP JOINS ONE-BLUE LICENSING PROGRAMME AS LICENSOR

    KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- One-Blue, an independent licensing

    company

    which handles a product’s licence for patents essential to Blu-ray Disc(TM)

    products, today announced Sharp Corporation (Sharp) has joined the One-Blue

    product licensing programme as a licensor.

    Sharp joins current licensors -- Cyberlink, Dell, Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard,

    Hitachi, JVC Kenwood, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung,

    Sony, Taiyo Yuden and Yamaha.

    "We are pleased to announce Sharp has joined our licensing programme as a

    licensor and is now making available their essential patents via the One-Blue

    programme.

    "Sharp has made major contributions to the development of the Blu-ray

    Disc(TM) standard and becomes an important addition to our pool," said One-Blue

    chief executive officer Roel Kramer in a statement.

    One-Blue manages the licensing programme for patents essential to Blu-ray

    Disc(TM) products and is the joint licensing agent for its licensors.

    For hardware and software products, the product licence covers Blu-ray

    Disc(TM), DVD and CD essential patents, while for disc products, the product

    licence covers Blu-ray Disc(TM) essential patents.

    Any holder of patents essential to optical formats used in Blu-ray Disc(TM)

    products is invited to submit patents for evaluation and join the licensing

    programme as a new licensor.
