28 Jul – "Stars Falling from the Sky" actor, Shin Dong-wook has been discharged from his mandatory military service midway through, due to him being diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), according to gokpop website.
A rep mentioned that Shin Dong-wook is currently resting and receiving treatments. They also mentioned that even though the disease might not cause problems in daily life, sometimes the pain can be severe and appears at any moment.
CRPS is a chronic progressive disease that causes severe pain, swelling and changes in the skin. It is said that the treatment is often unsatisfactory, but there are cases in which an early treatment has showed improvements on the patients.
