Magistrate''s Court here today with the murder of a marketing executive about six
Shahril Jaafar, 31, the son of a "Datuk" businessman, is charged with
murdering Chee Giap Yap, 25, between 5.30pm and 3.05am on Jan 15, 2006 at Kelab
Cinta Sayang here.
He is charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the
mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Shahril, who was brought from the Kuala Muda police lock-up, was charged
before Magistrate Raja Shahril Anuar Raja Baniamin.
However, no plea was recorded.

The court set March 11 for mention pending the accused DNA result.
Shahril was arrested by the police at the KL International Airport upon
arrival from Perth, Australia, last Jan 17 and was remanded for seven days to
facilitate investigations into the murder of the marketing executive.
