KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 (Bernama) -- The National Committee for the Development

Football plans to add another training centre in each state to widen the pool

for young talents, said Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Razali Ibrahim.

"At the committee''s meeting today, we considered increasing training centres

in each state. Now we already have 14 (centres) and are looking into if we can

afford to have an additional centre in each state by August," he told reproters

after chairing the meeting at the National Sports Council Complex in Bukit Jalil

here.

When the additional centre is in place, there will be 64 centres overall,

from 50 previously - the 14 state centres, 30 district centres and six schools

that specialise in football development.

Razali added that the meeting also decided to accord the state centres

special recognition, based on their level of achievements and those producing

the best results would receive special incentives.

On other developments, Razali announced that Terengganu had been selected to

host the Champion of Champions tournaments in December.

Following the meeting, Razali was introduced to the members of the Malaysian

squad which will be competing in the Cappy Cup tournament for players below the

age of 10 in Croatia.
