KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake measuring 6.1 on the
Richter scale, hit off the Coast of Oregon, United States (US) at 11.31am today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement said the earthquake
occurred at 788km northwest of San Francisco, and 11,471km northeast of
Sandakan, Sabah.
The quake did not pose any tsunami threat, it added.
