KUALA LUMPUR: A 44-year-old suspected robber fell to his death from the third floor of a hotel while trying to escape a police team that had ambushed his room.
The drama unfolded at Hotel Tophill in Kepong at about noon yesterday when a special task force formed by the Sentul police to combat house-breaking gangs received a tip-off.
"When police kicked open the door, the suspect jumped out of the window," said Sentul police chief ACP Zakaria Pagan.
The man fell through a lobby roof and landed at the entrance of the hotel on the ground floor.
When police went to the ground floor, they found the suspect alive, in a pool of blood but he died on the way to hospital.
