The biopic, set to be directed by "House" executive producer Katie Jacobs, will follow the lives and careers of the "Big Yellow Taxi" singer, as well as fellow '70s artists Carole King and Carly Simon.
If Taylor lands the part, it would not be the "Mean" singer's first big screen role - she made her acting debut opposite "The Twilight Saga" heartthrob Taylor Lautner in Garry Marshall's ensemble film, "Valentine's Day."
