TEENAGER PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO ATTEMPTED MURDER

PETALING JAYA, May 28 (Bernama) -- A teenager pleaded not guilty in the

Sessions Court here today on a charge with attempting to murder a company

general manager six days ago.

However, Mathew Salleh Palmer, 18, who worked at a car workshop, pleaded not

guilty to the charge before Judge Yasmin Abdul Razak.

Palmer was charged with attempting to murder Zamri Adam, 44, at Jalan Utama

TP 7, Subang Jaya, at 6pm last May 22.

The charge, under Section 307 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum

imprisonment for 20 years, if found guilty.

Yasmin allowed Mathew bail of RM8,000 with one surety and set June 22 for

mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Zhafran Rahim Hamzah prosecuted, while Mathew was

unrepresented.
