TERENGGANU MBFM PROTESTS AGAINST JULY 14 ORANGE RALLY

KUALA TERENGGANU, July 11 (Bernama) -- About 50 members of the Terengganu

Malaysia Felda Youth Council (MBFM) held a 30-minute peaceful demonstration in

front of the Felda regional office, here, this morning.

Besides that, 15 police reports have been lodged by 20 MBFM branches in the

state against the rally, dubbed the "Orange Rally to Save Felda" organised by

the National Association of Children of Felda Settlers (Anak).

Anak reportedly planned to hold a mass gathering and then march to Istana

Negara on July 14 to hand over to the King, a memorandum on their objection to

Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGVH) listing.

A memorandum was submitted to Felda Terengganu Region general manager Abd

Malib Abd Rani at about 11.45am after the peaceful demonstration.

Terengganu MBFM vice-chairman 1, Mohd Azani Mohd Noor said MFBM from other

states would also organise the same protest against the Orange Rally, as the

rally could affect Felda''s image and give negative perspective to investors on

FGVH''s prospects.

told reporters after handing over the memorandum.

Abd Malib said he would pass on the memorandum immediately to the Felda
