KUALA TERENGGANU, May 21 (Bernama) -- Terengganu''s 14 road cyclists selected
for the SUKMA in Pahang will go on a road tour throughout Malaysia to prepare
for the competition in Kuantan, from July 7 to 16.
Terengganu head coach Syed Mohd Hussaini Syed Mazlan said the 14 riders,
comprising eight men and six women cyclists have been given the task to improve
their performance.
The tour will start in Kuala Terengganu and have eight check points spanning
five states, namely at Rantau Panjang-Grik-Ipoh-Kuala
Lumpur-Temerloh-Kuantan-Kemaman before returning to Kuala Terengganu.
The riders will cover a distance of 1,600km over a two-week period and also
stopover in Temerloh to have a first hand view of the competition route.
Syed Mohd Hussaini said the tour would be Terengganu''s third phase of
training and preparations for the SUKMA which is less than two months away.
