Thandie Newton proud of Olay achievement

Thandie Newton was “tickled” when she was signed as the face of Olay.

The star was named as the celebrity ambassador for the skincare brand earlier this year.

Thandie was thrilled to represent the beauty giant because it reminded her of her youth.

“[I was] tickled because Oil of Ulay is what my mother used: that was the smell of being a woman,” she told Style magazine.

Thandie is famed for her ever-elegant style. The British actress thinks fashion is a way of expressing your creativity, and revels in making her own wardrobe choices.

“Oh, I love fashion. For me, it’s about being a girl and having fun,” she said. “Being a person and having fun. And celebrating creativity and life.”

Thandie is regularly seen wearing British labels. The 39-year-old beauty has revealed her motivations for doing so.

“[My favourite designers are] Giles [Deacon], Jonathan Saunders, Stella [McCartney] and Erdem. People say to me, ‘You’re so good, the way you champion British designers.’ And I’m like ‘Are you kidding? I want to look good.’ And, also, I want to look now and new,” she said.

Thandie has two daughters with husband Ol Parker – Ripley and Nico. The stunning star loves that her girls are creative, because she wasn’t always so experimental.

“They’re into styling more than fashion. Dressing up,” she revealed.

“I wasn’t. Not at all. I was in a lot of denial about my appearance when I was younger, so I certainly wouldn’t want to draw attention to myself. Maybe I’m making up for it now. Yes, I think I am.”
