KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- Three of four blocks of a polystyrene
factory, here, were saved in a fire following the prompt action of the Fire and
Rescue Department.
However, the fourth factory block at the Science Park, Kota Damansara, here,
was destroyed in the 12 noon blaze.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Mohamad
Sani Harul said 17 firemen and three officers were rushed to the scene when the
department was alerted at 12.26pm.
He said three fire engines from the Sungai Buloh and Damansara Fire and
Rescue Stations arrived 12 minutes later.
"At least 30 workers were in the factory during the fire but they managed to
save themselves. The fire was brought under control by 12.44pm and was put out
by 1pm," he told Bernama today.
According to Mohamad Sani no injury or loss of life was reported while the
cause of the fire was being investigated.
