'Totally natural' human breast milk ice cream on sale in London

I just wish that this mother had sold her breast milk to mothers who are lack of sufficient supply, yet are desperate to keep their babies healthy, e.g,...sickly or premature babies, etc, rather than making into ice-creams where no one would really appreciate it. I would NOT either. Besides, all the precious nutrients and antibodies will probably be lost by the time it’s been processed into ice-creams and seated over the counters. What a real waste.

We all know that breast milk contains antibodies and also the optimum combination of nutrients a newborn needs. If you have your own children and love them deeply, you wouldn’t even consider cow’s milk. However, it’s true that not all lactating mothers could have enough supply. If you really take a walk at KK hospital, you will discover that there are a lot of sickly babies and young children being warded, it’s a very heart-wrecking, pitiful sight to see babies suffer, and such babies should be exclusively breastfed as much as possible.

I personally feel that if any mothers realize that they have abundance of milk supply, they could sell/donate their excessive milk to such cases; they could save these babies’ lives. Of course the hospitals should send these mothers to stringent health checks and tests, to ensure they are in absolute healthy condition to disseminate their breast milk to other warded babies. Just my two-cents worth:) In fact, I hope that the hospitals to consider this option seriously...

It would be beautiful if instead they gave it to neonatal babies whose mothers aren't able to produce their own milk. There are facilities established for just this purpose.

It's strange that people "eewww ... " at drinking or eating human's milk products when it's supposed to be the most natural thing. Instead, they think that drinking cow's/goat's/horse's milk is ok when nature had meant it to be for the respective animals' babies. Go figure.

i know that a mother's milk is essential and very nutritious for her young...not just any milk like cows' milk and goats'...but it somehow feels wrong to eat ice cream made of human milk... @_@ they should give it to babies who need them instead of making ice cream out of the milk...i guess that the milk would have lost lots of nutritions in the process of turning the milk into ice cream...its kinda wasteful if its so...

I don't know why people are disturbed with it. How many guys have ever wanted to suck between the legs of a cow rather than a woman's breast?

Some may accept it and some may not. But i would like this to be viewed with an open mind. I have friends whom would just drank up the remaining milk that were pumped out from their wife. This happened as and when there were over flow of supply. And indeed, it is much healthier than the milk selling in the commercial market.

There is morally nothing wrong with making ice-cream out of breast milk. However, it is not "organic, natural and free-range" as the seller claims. Milk (cow or human) is produced by the body using nutrients from the substances consumed. I think cows & sheep have a much more "organic, natural and free-range" diet than humans, since they are by and large herbivorous and their diets are limited. Humans eat all sorts of rubbish and there is a high chance of alcohol being present as well.

Nowadays babies are thrown away and mothers' milk is made into ice creams. Life is like a mean machine!

This is something new. As a Muslim, as I understand it, two babies breast fed by the same mother cannot marry. Can this be categorised as such?

I think its better to encourage mothers to feed thier babies with breast milk,which is a best source of nutrients for them, rather than making it a business.

There are babies out there who are in need of Mother's milk for one reason or another. why not contribute to these needy babies. Isn't that a much more worthy cause to contribute to.

To those people who said "yucks", oh please. It is only breast milk, not semen. Breast milk can be consumed! You probably had breast milk when you were a baby so what's the big deal?

What A joke... Please lah. A drop of breast milk if left over night will turn brownish or dark brown, forming into blood stain... This already shows it contain DNA or blood cell... Then what, whoever eat the ice-cream all of them will hv mix DNA and eventually will become brother/sister... Then one day they got married unknowingly that they eat the same kind of ice-cream... What happen next!!! Having babies which den turn out to be not normal... Crazy...

If that supposed to be delicious, then what about urine drink! this should taste like lemon juice when sugar is added to it... oh wait.... since you talk about nutrition and freshness... man sperm could is the most world known with it's complete ingredients wow man that should be added to cakes as cream wow vanilla and yummy
