The Truth Behind Energy BarsSuper markets have opened for its customers a wide range of mindless products. And energy bars are one of them.

This bug of eating energy bars mostly hits you once you join a gym. They taste just fine and the label includes a lot of jargon that you never bother verifying from a dietician. So let us take the honour to burst this energy bar balloon for you. Read on to find out how good are they actually:

Sugar rush

One tiny bar is loaded with more than a hundred calories. They are filled with sugar that causes weight gain. So if you have been eating these energy bars post your workout then you are probably sabotaging all your effort.

Meal replacement

Once you hit the gym, your food not just nourishes your body but gives you energy to keep going. As the name suggest, energy bars are expected to provide energy. But in reality they just give you energy and don’t nourish your body. So avoid replacing your meal with these energy bars.

Are they genuine

When you eat your oatmeal cereal, you physically check the quality of the oats and are sure that you are eating oats that are going to be good for your stomach. But when buying these readymade bars there is a high probability that the ingredients used are of low quality or untested which can be dangerous for your health.

Options

The energy bar with whole wheat and dry fruit on their labels are most sold. Doctors recommend that you don’t fall for this and eat nuts and dry fruit in their original form. This will show better results on your body.

If you have been eating these energy bars before or after your gym routine in order to boost your energy, then you might want to give it a second thought. Better resort to fresh or dry fruits as they will give you more energy and also help you cut down the sugar intake. Don’t fall for fancy packaging because it is just an extra expense and a dead investment.
