"Fifty Shades of Grey" might have been inspired by Stephenie Meyer's "The Twilight Saga," but the author who gave life to Bella and Edward doesn't appear to be jumping onboard the Christian and Anastasia bandwagon.

"I haven't read it. I mean, that's really not my genre, not my thing," the writer told MTV News on the set of her latest book-to-the-big screen project, "The Host."

"I've heard about it. I haven't really gotten into it that much," Stephenie continued.

She might not be pouring herself into the racy world of Christian Grey, but she is happy for fellow author E L James.

"Good [for] her - she's doing well. That's great," she said.

Regardless of the Stephenie's hugely successful vampire series, she thinks E L would have still created her world.

"It might not exist in the exact form that it's in," she told MTV News. "Obviously, [E L] had a story in her, and so it would've come out in some other way."

Stephenie also chimed in on Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games."

"I was really excited they were turning it into a movie," she said of the successful series. "Of course, then you have that, 'Are they gonna screw it up?' 'cause it's so awesome, but they didn't; it's awesome. I'm really looking forward to the next one. I have fingers crossed for a couple of casting choices."

Specifically, Stephenie has a star in mind for the role of tribute Finnick Odair.

"Taylor Kitsch," she firmly said. "Is there another option?"

When MTV informed Stephenie that Taylor has expressed that he's not interested in "The Hunger Games" role, she added, "You're breaking my heart."
