MELAKA, July 11 (Bernama) - Two firemen were slightly hurt when putting out
fire at a furniture factory in Bukit Rambai industrial area last night.
Amran Kassim, 36, and Sabri Ahmad, 40, suffered light injuries from sparks
when putting out the fire together with 34 other firemen.
Melaka Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director R. Ezhumalai
said they were sent to Melaka Hospital for treatment and later discharged.
He said the first fire was reported at 12.43am yesterday and was brought
under control 3 hours later.
However, firemen returned to the factory when another fire was reported at
9.31pm and brought it under control at 6am today.
Cause of the fire is still under investigation while loss is estimated at
RM2mil.
