KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- Universiti Malaya (UM) targets to be among
the top 100 universities in the world in two years, said its Vice-Chancellor Tan
Sri Dr Ghauth Jasmon.
He said with UM now having full autonomy, the target was achievable.
"With the autonomy, we are also free to collaborate with many more top
ranked universities which puts us in a good stead to achieve the objective," he
told reporters after attending a high-tea function with alumni of the university
here today.
Based on the QS World University Rankings, UM is now in 167th place and 39th
best among Asian universities.
