    WAITRESS FOUND DEAD IN HOUSE, BOYFRIEND DETAINED

    NIBONG TEBAL, Jan 30 (Bernama) -- A waitress, embroiled in a heated argument

    with her boyfriend early today, was found dead at the couple''s rented house in

    Taman Bakap Indah here.

    The body of Tan Fock Ping, 38, who sustained slash wounds on the wrists and

    legs, was on the floor of the master bedroom when the police arrived at the

    scene at 10.32am.

    A note, written in Mandarin, was taped to the wall.

    According to Seberang Perai Selatan police chief Supt Shafien Mamat, the note,

    allegedly written by Tan, depicted her anger and disappointment with a person.

    He said the victim''s 49-year-old boyfriend was detained to facilitate

    investigations into the case which had initially been classified as sudden

    death.

    Nevertheless, Shafien said, investigations were ongoing, adding that the body

    was sent to the Sungai Bakap Hospital.
