LANGKAWI, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- Wan Malinja Food Industries Sdn Bhd, a
producer of halal food, plan to open between 40 to 50 kebab kiosks throughout
the country annually.
The company''s marketing and sales manager Ahmady Jaafar said the company was
in the process of identifying suitable locations for those who applied to open
"The response received is encouraging and to date 40 kiosks have been opened
in the country since last July," he said when met at the "Leaders With The
People" session for Langkawi parliamentary constituency at the Mardi agro
technology park here today.
At the function, Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Deputy Minister Datuk
Wira Johari Baharom presented certificates to six participants under the
graduates and young farmers kebab kiosk entrepreneur development programme.
Each of the participant received loan amounting to RM10,000.
Johari also opened a kebab kiosk belonging to Noor Liza Abdul Hamid, one of
the participants, in the programme.
Noor Liza, 33, a young farmer, said her kiosk located at Pantai Cenang and
the cable car station, had received good response from the people and managed to
sell more than 50 pieces of the chicken and beef kebabs everyday, especially
during the holiday season.
