Singapore-based custom gaming laptop startup Aftershock PC has announced a happy deviation from its notebooks: the Aftershock Tremor and Hypergate desktop computers. This is Aftershock’s first foray into desktop computing; until now it only specialized in customized gaming notebooks.

Potential users will be able to choose from having a standard-size computer case in the Hypergate, and a smaller one in the Tremor. These two size options cater to both the minimalist and the enthusiast.

Both desktops will also have water-cooling and custom light options, as well as Aftershock PC’s trademark customizability. Water-cooling a CPU as opposed to traditional fan cooling delivers lower temperatures under a heavy gaming load, and makes the system easier to maintain. Lower temperatures on the CPU makes for a longer lifespan as well.

Users will be able to customize their desktops starting at S$1,299 (US$1,008), and select from a wide range of automotive paint colors. Both the Tremor and Hypergate desktop computers will come with a default two-year warranty from the brand.

“We have had numerous requests for a gaming desktop and we figured, why not build some sexy and fast gaming PCs? However, we have and always will be a gaming notebook company at our core, though the idea of modding gaming PCs is something new and exciting for us,” says marketing director Joe Wee.

Along with the desktops, Aftershock PC also introduce its latest S-series laptop – the Aftershock S-17. The S-17 is a 17.3” lightweight full-body aluminium gaming notebook with Nvidia’s latest 900 series graphic cards. It also has a full macro-capable keyboard, the latest Intel AC 7265 wireless, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 4TB of storage. The S-17 will cost upwards of S$2,099 (US$1,629).

Both the desktop and laptop computers can be fully customized online.
