ALOR SETAR, May 20 (Bernama) - The ''Wasatiyyah and 1Malaysia'' Seminar will
tour 14 states to explain the two concepts to the people.
Two prominent speakers have been lined-up for the seminar organised by the
Prime Minister''s Department.
Minister in the Prime Minister''s Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharum
will speak on ''Wasatiyyah'' or moderation concept while Deputy Minister in the
Prime Minister''s Department, Datuk Ahmad Maslan on the 1Malaysia concept.
Kedah is the first state to organise the seminar followed by Negeri Sembilan
and Selangor tomorrow.
Ahmad Maslan said the seminar focuses on civil servants, non-governmental
organisations (NGOs), private sector employees and youths.
"The programme does not focus on politicians because they already understand
the concepts after attending courses and other programmes.

"Focus is on the four groups so that the ''Wasatiyyah and 1Malaysia'' concepts
can be explained in a simple way," he told a press conference after the seminar
here today.
The seminar was opened by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-Based
Industry, Datuk Mohd Johari Baharum, who is also Kedah Federal Action Council
chairman.
Meanwhile, participant Zaizura Darus, 30, said the two concepts should be
explained to all civil servants so that they could apply in their daily work.
She said the concepts are relevant and Malaysia can be a model for other
countries to implement the ''Wasatiyyah'' concept.
The two concepts were introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun
Razak.
