WATER ISSUE: NIK AZIZ, EXCO MEMBER URGED TO RESIGN

KOTA BAHARU, April 25 (Bernama) -- Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik

Mat and state Housing, Public Works, Utilities and Environment Committee

chairman Datuk Md Anizam Abdul Rahman are urged to quit their posts over the

water clean supply problem.

The People of Kelantan Action Council (MTRK) believe that both are

responsible for the state''s failure to provide clean water supply to the people

in the state.

Its chairman Azmi Ali said MTRK would not hesitate to hold a large protest

gathering here to urge them to quit if no action was taken to solve the problem.

"The people of Kelantan are not asking for a revolving tower or tiered

flyover. We only want clean water. PAS carries the slogan, Welfare State, but it

can''t even solve the water problem.

"The people of Kelantan are very stressed out with this problem," he told

reporters, here, today.

Newspapers today reported that officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption

Commission went to the Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd office, here, at about 10am on

Monday, to investigate the allegation of misappropriation.

On the reports quoting Anizam regarding the water problem as trivial, Azmi

said: "Water is a very important requirement in life. Without water, no

activities can be carried out".
