THE nation's first free-to-air news and current affairs channel – Worldview Broadcasting Channel (WBC) – has begun test transmissions daily from 7pm to 10pm and viewers can tune in via UHF Channel 39 at the frequency 615.25 MHz.
Due to be launched next year, the station's core content will be news with 70% international news coverage while the rest will be a range of current affairs programmes and documentaries, both local and international, business, talkshows, as well as local and international sports.
WBC's local viewers will be able to watch live news reports from various locations around the world – presented from a Malaysian perspective in three languages – Bahasa Malaysia, English and Arab.
The station will also feature programs on lifestyle, culture, history, science and technology, in line with its objective to promote global values through the portrayal of diverse world civilisation.
