KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 (Bernama) -- Former Selangor PAS Commissioner Datuk Dr
Hasan Ali said that he will not appeal against his expulsion as a PAS party
member despite being given 30 days to appeal, expiring on Feb 7.
He said among the factors influencing his decision not to appeal were that
the direction and policies of the PAS struggles had deviated from its original
objectives, as well as the existence of a group whom he described as ''parasites''
in the party.
"I find that the ''parasitic'' PAS leaders are more inclined to listen to the
opinions of the DAP and PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) instead of the
representatives within the party concerning matters on the running of the state
government.
"In almost all matters, these parasites voiced negative opinions on what I
did with regard to matters on Islam and the Malays. They preferred to attack
me," he told reporters at his residence in Damansara, here today.
On Jan 8, Hasan, who is also the State Assemblyman for Gombak Setia, was
expelled as a PAS member with immediate effect and was given 30 days to appeal
to the PAS Ulama Consultative Council.

HASAN-APPEAL 2 (LAST) KUALA LUMPUR
Hasan had frequently suggested that PAS reviewed its position within the
Opposition Pact following the approach taken by the ''parasites'' which had
compromised and sacrificed the party''s policy merely to look after the interests
of the DAP and PKR.
He said that in the administration of Selangor, he had faced difficulties in
championing Islam and the Malays.
He said that his decision not to appeal was also due to the fact that he was
not asked to give an explanation to the PAS leadership regarding the charges, if
any, that were made against him.
"I hold on to the statement by PAS Spiritual Leader (Datuk Seri Nik Aziz Nik
Mat) who had said that everything relating to me had been concluded following
the ''heart to heart'' meeting in Kota Baharu on Dec 27, last year.
"Based on these factors, I decided not to appeal or protest against my
expulsion which was arbitrary and had been carried out according to the wishes
of the ''parasites'' who want to see my removal from the party leadership," he
said.
Dr Hasan said he would appeal to come back to PAS if the party returned to
the original struggles to champion Islam and the Malay interests.
