PANGKOR: PAS should look into the proposal by its former deputy president to review its position in the opposition, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) as the coalition has been at odds over several issues.
Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said party members must view the suggestion as it came from a member holding an important post.
"The political understanding among the parties in PR is not working although they are have attempted to make it work on many occasions," he said.
Zambry was asked to comment on the stand by Nasharudin Mat Isa whose statement on some issues had drawn criticism from party members which eventually led to his sacking as a member by the Syura Council.
Earlier, he presented ang pows to 511 residents of Pangkor in conjunction with Chinese New Year at Arena Pangkor yesterday. He also distributed BR1M payments to 1,500 recipients.
Nasharudin had previously asked the party to review its position and cooperation with PR, especially if DAP continues to oppose the implementation of hudud laws.
Zambry said it was a mistake by PAS to join the opposition coalition and the party had not learned its lesson.
"The parties regularly differ on various issues and they try to patch up but always end up in failure.
"They like to work and cooperate with other PR parties but not Umno ... they are at the loosing end and they (PAS) know it."
Zambry who is also Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman said when PAS joined the coalition, the party was not promised extra seats to contest in the election but in the end received the same number.
"Even if the opposition wins Putrajaya, there will be a bigger fight and differing of views among them as they cannot come to an understanding."
