Langkah Putrajaya mengurangkan 10% perbelanjaan keraian tidak akan membantu rakyat menangani kenaikan kos sara hidup, sebaliknya hanya helah politik kerajaan mengawal kemarahan rakyat, kata Datuk Mahfuz Omar (gambar).

Ahli Parlimen Pokok Sena itu menegaskan, dengan kos kehidupan rakyat meningkat sebanyak 10% hingga 30%, pengumuman 11 langkah penjimatan yang diumumkan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak itu juga tidak menjejaskan kehidupan menteri yang terlibat.

"Tidak membantu satu sen pun," kata Mahfuz kepada The Malaysian Insider di Kuala Lumpur hari ini.

"Rakyat tak kisah nak kurangkan berapa peratus sekalipun, malah kalau gaji perdana menteri naik sekalipun rakyat tak kisah... mereka hanya mahu kos sara hidup mereka dikurangkan," kata Mahfuz.

Jelasnya lagi, pekeliling yang dikeluarkan pada 2008, oleh Kementerian Kewangan. sendiri telah menyatakan penjimatan 10% dalam peruntukan keraian perdana menteri, timbalan menteri, termasuk menteri Kabinet.

"Ia hanya helah politik. Penjimatan itu termasuk elaun keraian, kenapa perlu umumkan kembali?" soalnya lagi, dan menambah 11 langkah yang diumumkan Najib itu adalah sekadar sandiwara politik.

Najib semalam telah mengumumkan 11 langkah yang disifatkannya boleh membendung perbelanjaan kerajaan mulai tahun 2014.

Antaranya termasuk pemotongan elaun hiburan pemimpin dan pegawai kerajaan serta bajet elektrik Putrajaya.

Langkah itu adalah untuk menunjukkan bahawa kerajaan juga sama-sama menanggung beban rakyat sempena kenaikan kebanyakan harga barang mulai esok.

Tahun depan telah diibaratkan ramai pihak sebagai tahun kenaikan kos sara hidup, berikutan kenaikan harga bagi tol, ais, alat tulis, cukai pintu Dewan Bandaray Kuala Lumpur, kadar elektrik dan tambang bas.

Pengarah Strategik PKR Rafizi Ramli turut menegaskan, dengan langkah penjimatan berkenaan, kerajaan hanya mampu mengutip RM50,353 sebulan daripada perbelanjaan keraian Najib, timbalannya Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin dan anggota Kabinet yang lain.

"Walaupun pemotongan elaun keraian sebanyak 10% adalah satu isyarat bahawa pentadbiran beliau tahu kemarahan rakyat mengenai kenaikan harga barang dan perkhidmatan yang diumumkan Barisan Nasional akhir-akhir ini, ia sedikit pun tidak akan membantu menghentikan pembaziran dan keborosan sedia ada," kata Rafizi dalam satu kenyataan di Kuala Lumpur hari ini.

Tegas Ahli Parlimen Pandan itu lagi, daripada jumlah berkenaan, Najib hanya memotong sebanyak RM1,698 sebulan "daripada sejumlah RM6.8 bilion yang diperuntukkan kepada beliau untuk projek-projek berbentuk kempen politik".

Bagi menyuarakan bantahan terhadap peningkatan kos sara hidup, satu himpunan besar-besaran dijadualkan berlangsung di Dataran Merdeka sempena sambutan ambang Tahun Baru malam ini. – 31 Disember, 2013.
