KUALA LUMPUR, 17 Okt (Bernama) -- Sekurang-kurangnya 6,700 graduan

kejururawatan institusi pengajian tinggi swasta (IPTS) akan diserapkan secara

berperingkat dalam perkhidmatan kerajaan menjelang 2015.

Menteri Kesihatan Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai berkata langkah itu bagi

menangani isu pengangguran dan lambakan kira-kira 8,000 graduan kejururawatan

sekarang.

"Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Kabinet Mengenai Perjawatan dan Gaji Pekerja-pekerja

Sektor Awam pada 14 Okt lalu telah bersetuju supaya bilangan perjawatan ditambah

secara berperingkat iaitu sebanyak 1,681 jawatan setahun bermula tahun ini,"

katanya ketika menggulung perbahasan Rang Undang-undang Perbekalan 2013

peringkat dasar bagi kementeriannya di Dewan Rakyat di sini hari ini.

Liow berkata temuduga pengambilan jururawat akan dijalankan dari 10

hingga 12 Nov depan.

Selain itu katanya, kerajaan turut akan mengkaji cara untuk menyerapkan

graduan yang mengganggur dalam Skim Latihan 1Malaysia agar mereka boleh

diberi latihan dan "refresh" kemahiran mereka.

"Kita juga bercadang mengadakan penempatan singkat jururawat di hospital

kerajaan dan swasta bagi memberi peluang kepada mereka menempatkan diri di dalam

alam pekerjaan.

"Perbincangan juga diadakan bersama persatuan hospital-hospital swasta dan

mencadangkan supaya mereka mengambil graduan jururawat dari kolej swasta tanpa

meletakkan syarat mempunyai pengalaman bekerja...sebenarnya masih ada kekosongan

di hospital swasta," katanya.

Beliau berkata kerajaan turut telah melaksanakan moratorium ke atas

institusi pengajian yang menawarkan kursus kejururawatan pada peringkat diploma

bagi mengelak lambakan graduan dalam bidang berkenaan.

Katanya kerajaan tidak akan meluluskan program baharu dalam bidang

kejururawatan buat masa ini serta permohonan penubuhan kolej kejururawatan dalam

usaha menangani isu tersebut.

"Meskipun bilangan jururawat berlebihan berikutan kolej swasta menawarkan

tempat yang begitu tinggi kepada bakal graduan, kerajaan sudah melaksanakan

moratorium dengan syarat ketat yang berupaya mengurangkan pengambilan pelajar

kepada 2,000 hingga 3,000 setahun," katanya.

PARLIMEN-GULUNG (JURURAWAT) 3 (AKHIR) KUALA LUMPUR

Liow berkata kementeriannya menerusi Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia turut

mengadakan kerjasama dengan Agensi Pengambilan Tenaga Kerja Jururawat dalam dan

luar negara melalui Perjanjian Pengiktirafan Bersama (MRA) dengan negara Asean.

Katanya ini bagi membolehkan graduan jururawat mendapat pekerjaaan di luar

negara termasuk di Singapura, Brunei dan Timur Tengah.

"Ketika ini terdapat 541 jururawat bertugas di Singapura,

Brunei seramai 157 orang dan seramai 851 orang di Timur Tengah dan ini

menunjukkan kemahiran Malaysia diakui dunia," katanya.
