NEW DELHI: The five-year-old Delhi rape survivor is recovering as expected and her fever has come down, a doctor at AIIMS said.

"The girl is recovering as expected. Her fever has come down. She is afebrile (not feverish) now," said DK Sharma.

Meanwhile, police has arrested both her assaulters who raped, tortured and kept her captive in the basement of the same building where her parents lived.

The main accused, Manoj Kumar, from whose rented room the girl was rescued two days after she went missing April 15, has revealed that before the incident, he was drinking and watching porn with Pradeep Kumar, before committing the heinous crime.

Manoj had also admitted that on the day of the incident, they struck up the idea of finding a girl. When they came out of the room, they saw the five-year-old playing, according to police.

Manoj said that it was he who lured the girl by offering her chocolate, but blamed Pradeep for the rape.

Police said that Manoj  had blamed Pradeep for the brutal attack on the child.

The other accused, a 19-year-old man, who was arrested from Bihar confessed to his crime and said that he has committed a big mistake.

Pradeep Ram was arrested by a joint team of Delhi and Bihar police from his maternal uncle's house in Lakhisarai area in Bihar in the wee hours Monday.

"I have committed a big mistake", Pradeep told police when he was arrested, a Delhi Police officer told IANS.

Pradeep, a labourer, was being brought to Delhi in a chartered flight by Delhi Police at night.

An illiterate, Pradeep belongs to Ahiyapur in Sheikhupura district of Bihar. He befriended Manoj Kumar, the main accused, on a train while both were on way to Bihar from Delhi earlier this year.
